Dunno, how awful is your vision? Also, what counts as doing any good? I'm somewhere between -5 and -7.5 diopters; not sure exactly because I've done *all* of the above at some point in my life.
Other cool thing I didn't mention, RGP lenses apparently incidentally correct mild astigmatism for the same reason.
Regarding lasers, Lasik is really awesome (as opposed to the older laser radial keratotomy, which is just as terrifying as the non-laser version with scalpels...very), but the last time I looked at numbers I found the catastrophic failure rate simply unacceptable. I suspect they've improved those issues since, and might consider getting it done sometime.
